The United States has imposed sanctions on several hundred individuals and organizations in various countries that contribute to Russia’s war against Ukraine. The new package includes investigation companies and an analyst from the Trap Aggressor team.
Now one of the largest shipbuilding rebar manufacturers, «Armalit», is under sanctions
The company fulfills Russian defense orders and successfully cooperates with companies under US and European sanctions. Trap Aggressor journalists discovered that the company’s co-owner, Oleg Volkov, has long lived in the United States, where he owns real estate and construction businesses. Volkov also owns companies in Canada, Turkey, Thailand, and Cyprus.
The U.S. sanctions lists also include companies for which the Trap Aggressor team prepared public (analysts presented a map of the European assets of Russian UAV manufacturers) and non-public analytical materials. Among them are manufacturers of FPV drones used by the Russian army in the war against Ukraine.
- «Astron Design Bureau». Develops and mass-produces thermal imaging cooled and uncooled photodetection devices and systems.
- «Atamanova Design Bureau«». Produces attack and reconnaissance drones, including the Boomerang UAV, which is used in the combat zone.
- «Sokol Research and Design Bureau». Develops software and hardware systems for FPV, VR, AR, MR, electronic and optical devices.
- «Russian Air Transport Laboratory», which produces the Ovod FPV drone.
- «Vozdukhniy Traktat LLC». The company is engaged in research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences.
- State Unitary Enterprise of Zaporizhzhia Region «P.A. Sudoplatov Center for Technical Development and Services». One of the participants in the Judgment Day project, which is a serial manufacturer of Russian PVC drones, also known as VT-40.
- «Intellect Machines Research and Production Association». Develops software and manufactures components for electronic and computer equipment.
- «Spectrum Engineering», which designs, manufactures, and supplies navigation and measurement equipment, including systems for vibration diagnostics and monitoring the technical condition of equipment.
Russian «Ptero» in the crosshairs
The Russian company «Ptero» has also been sanctioned. It is a Russian developer of unmanned aerial systems that designs, manufactures, and operates unmanned aerial vehicles. Amir Valiyev, the owner of «Ptero», also owns 65% of AFM-Servers. This is the company that produces drones with the American Iridium navigation system. A year ago, Trap Aggressor journalists found this out in an investigation about satellite communications used by the Russian occupiers.
