The UK government has introduced the largest sanctions package against Russia since the beginning of 2022. Restrictions were imposed on more than 100 individuals and companies supporting the Kremlin’s military-industrial complex. Among them is the odious figure in the Trap Aggressor investigations, Andrei Kuzyaev, who has been providing communications for the occupiers for years.
Kuzyaev is a billionaire, owner of Er-Telecom Holding and Morion PJSC, which specialize in telecommunications and provide the Russian army with communications. For example, Morion develops and manufactures, and then supplies telecommunications equipment to the Vega Research Institute, which directly cooperates with the Russian Defense Ministry and other Russian paramilitary agencies.
While his companies supported the aggressor’s army, the Kuziaev family traveled freely in Europe. The billionaire’s daughter, Anna Kuziaeva, wrote a travel blog from Geneva, Paris and luxury resorts, and his wife Yulia organized festivals in Montenegro.
The British sanctions include an asset freeze, travel ban, and transportation restrictions. Aircraft and vessels owned directly or indirectly by the Kuziaevs are prohibited from entering UK ports and airports. His business will lose access to financial transactions in the country.
