Nenad Popovic is a former Minister of Serbia (2017-2022) and founder of the Serbian People's Party. He owns numerous companies and holdings in Serbia and Russia. The businessman uses his connections in the Kremlin to secure business for his holdings, most of which operate in the consulting, real estate and electronics sectors of the Russian economy, as well as to increase his personal wealth through embezzlement and tax schemes.
Popovic’s key holdings based in Russia are: Asset Electro LLC, Mossen Asset Management LLC, and Asset Automation LLC. Thanks to them, the Serbian politician has control over a wide network of Russian subsidiaries in his field.
Nenad Popovic has long been a friend of the Kremlin, as he has been directly supporting the Russian side in a full-scale war against Ukraine. He keeps in touch with his Russian ABC group of companies and participates in public events organized by this group in Russia.
One of the companies of the ABC Group is VNIIR-Progress. It manufactures military products, including Kometa modules. These modules are an important component of Russian Shahed drones and Orlan reconnaissance UAVs. Kometa allows them to be invulnerable to electronic jamming systems, and thus reduces the likelihood that UAVs and drones will be quickly neutralized.
Despite the fact that Nenad Popovic's assets are blocked in the United States because of his support for Russia, he is still not under sanctions by the EU and Ukraine. The Serbian businessman and his Russian business partner Irina Kharisova have been personally investing in the murders of Ukrainians, but have no significant restrictions on continuing their bloody business.
We call on our European partners and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to synchronize sanctions with the United States. For sanctions to be effective, they must completely isolate Russia and its “friends” from the civilized world.
