One of the entities featured in Trap Aggressor’s investigations, Ural Civil Aviation Plant JSC (UZGA), continues to expand its activities in the unmanned systems sector. In June 2025, Russian media reported that Technodinamika JSC, a holding company of the Rostec state corporation, had acquired the assets of the bankrupt Simonov Experimental Design Bureau JSC (JSC NPO OKB im. M.P. Simonova) and planned to use its Kazan facilities to manufacture UZGA heavy drones.

UZGA is part of Technodinamika JSC. According to Russian sources, more than 50% of the plant’s shares are owned by the joint holding of the Rostec state corporation and banker Viktor Grigoryev. Previously, the Trap Aggressor project by the StateWatch think tank reported that UZGA had supplied the Russian military with Forpost-R, Altius, and Korsar reconnaissance-strike UAVs.

In the past, the Simonov Experimental Design Bureau developed the Dan aerial target – a cruise missile simulator for testing air-defense systems. In May and July 2025, its modified version, the Dan-M, was used by Russia as a strike jet-powered UAV in air attacks on Odesa and Kyiv. Russian media have referred to the aerial target as “the wonder weapon of the special military operation”, although there has been no publicly available information in recent years about serial production of the Dan-M.

The plant continues to modernize its projects: in February 2025, UZGA presented the export variant of the Forpost-RE UAV at the IDEX 2025 arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In April 2025, reports also emerged that UZGA’s subsidiary, Technojet LLC, was developing a new Akkord-201 cargo unmanned aviation system. This company is a partner of the Unmanned Aviation Systems Research and Production Center in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.
