While Russia is actively developing rail links in the occupied territories of Ukraine – from Donbas to Crimea, building new branches for the transport of goods, ammunition, and equipment – one of the world’s largest potash companies, Uralkali, continues to cooperate with Russian Railways (RZD). This is a key transport artery of the Russian Federation, through which large-scale shipments pass, and according to open data, a contract worth 70,800,035,387,092 rubles (about $850.3 billion) has been signed between the potash company and RZD.
The official website of the arbitration courts lists court cases for 2025 between Uralkali and RZD. Therefore, cooperation between the companies continues to this day.
Some of the company's employees publicly express their support for the war. At the level of collective initiatives and local organizations, the company participates in volunteer campaigns to support the military and provides material assistance to the children of military personnel. At the same time, Uralkali continues to import high-tech equipment of Western origin. For example, Simatic S7-400 processors and Sinamics power modules (Siemens products). According to customs data, some of these deliveries were processed through third jurisdictions (the Maldives).
