Since the beginning of April this year, the Russian Federation has been attacking Ukraine, in particular the Odessa region, with a new type of weapon called the Banderol. However, on May 12, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine revealed in the technical characteristics of the weapon, which received the designation S8000. As it turned out, this cruise missile is also stuffed with foreign electronics. It is equipped with a warhead weighing up to 150 kg and can fly a distance of up to 500 km.

The missile was developed by the sanctioned Russian company Kronstadt. It also manufactures the Orion drones the main platform for launching the Banderola.

The missile is equipped with the Comet-M8 antenna, manufactured by the Russian enterprise VNIIR-Progress. Previously, Trap Aggressor talked about guided aerial bombs with UMPK guidance systems, which also use Comet-M antennas. We also found this navigation device in Shaheds. The main components for the manufacture of these modules are of foreign production. In particular, Altera valve matrices, Taoglas GPS antennas, and microcontrollers from the USA. VNIIR-Progress systematically imports them through China, Turkey, and India.

Dozens of foreign components were also found in the new type of missile. In particular:

  • Swiwin SW800Pro engine (China) – sold on AliExpress for $16,000;
  • RFD900x telemetry – Australian or Chinese production;
  • Inertial navigation system, presumably Chinese;
  • Murata batteries (Japan);
  • Dynamixel MX-64AR servo drives (South Korea).

About 20 more microcircuits from the USA, Switzerland, China, Japan, and South Korea. The Kronstadt company receives all components through the Russian distributor Chip&Dip, which has been circumventing sanctions for years and filling Russian weapons with foreign electronics.
