In May 2014, he received a 49% stake in Kalashnikov. Bokarev was the first Russian oligarch to be enter the strategic arms business. The oligarch was a co-owner of the concern, which manufactures small arms and precision weapons, until 2017.
The Russian Deutsche Welle mentions the so-called Bokarev PMC, which is probably controlled by Andrey Bokarev. That is, the oligarch, who directly finances and supplies the Russian army, also has his own private military company.
Uralelectromed, a part of UMMC (where Bokarev is a shareholder), supplies copper powders to the Chapayevsky Mechanical Plant, which manufactures detonator capsules, pyrotechnic relays, detonation cords, cumulative charges, and sealed explosive cartridges.
Uralelectromed supplies copper powders and lead to other major defence companies in Russia: Kamensk-Uralsky Foundry, Yurginsky Machine-Building Plant and others.
Andrey Bokarev’s assets in the EU
According to the same publication by The Insider, the main foreign office of Transmashholding, where Bokarev is a co-owner, is located in Switzerland, where TMH International AG is registered. Transmashholding also controls 50% of the Dutch TMH Alstom B. V., a locomotive manufacturer, and 50% in Railcomp B. V., which manufactures parts of railway locomotives, trams and other motor cars.
]Lugamash produces parts and locomotives for Russian Railways. The company is supported by both the local occupation authorities and the Kremlin. In September, it became part of the Free Economic Zone created in the occupied territory by the decree of Vladimir Putin.
Together with Olga, Andrey Bokarev has three children. They are 15-year-old Elizaveta, 9-year-old Andrey and 16-year-old Alexander.
